Behind the Scenes

The Knights of Gore are an entertainment troupe that perform live armored combat shows (real weapons, real armor, real pain) at renaissance faires in Connecticut and Massachusetts. I joined the group in late 2023! For this series, I wanted to focus on the aspect of the shows that people don't see, things like armor maintenance, costume preparation, training, and cast bonding.

Character Portraits

For this aspect of the series, I wanted to let the group show themselves both as they want the audience to see them, and as how they wanted to see themselves while in-character. For these portraits, I asked each person to take a moment to "fully embody" their character, leaving it up to them what that meant.
